Dr. King achieved a childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian when she graduated in 1983 from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She practiced as a relief veterinarian in Oklahoma and Texas before opening a mixed animal mobile veterinary clinic that later expanded into Village West Veterinary Clinic.  After 10 years of owning and operating a clinic she sold it and worked for a short time in an emergency clinic setting before moving to Texas in 1998. 

She has worked in a variety of venues in the veterinary field and continues to enjoy her chosen profession.  She currently belongs to the AVMA, TCVMA and ISDVMA as well as AMBUCS. 

Her hobbies include traveling, reading, gardening, sled dog race (Iditarod) volunteer veterinarian, judging classic cars, working out and hanging out with friends and family.  She is happily married to Mike Raffetto and has two adult children.  She also shares a home with a dog named Tootsie.
